Rock climbing is a sport booming in popularity throughout America, and Tucson is no stranger to it. Rocks and Ropes was established in Downtown Tucson in 1992 and has now opened a second location on the East side.

R&R is a huge indoor, fully air-conditioned, rock climbing facility equipped with a highly-trained and friendly staff. Bored with your normal workout routine? One trip here and you will be sweating and motivated. This is why it is one of our favorite things to do in Tucson!

On your first visit to Rocks and Ropes, the staff will take you through the process of putting on your harness, climbing, repelling, and belaying. If you are an experienced climber you are welcome to bring your own gear. If not, for a small charge they will provide you with all of the necessary equipment.

Rocks and Ropes has a separate kids’ section with smaller walls and even a place to hold birthday parties. During the summer, Rocks and Ropes offers kids’ camps, perfect for keeping your kids active while school is out!

Both locations have a similar number of rock walls with varying difficulties. The downtown location also has a boulder without hand grips for more advanced climbers looking for realistic practice.

The hours vary by location and by whether or not you purchase a monthly membership.
